Sparta Rotterdam bids farewell to Norwegian duo Lauritsen and Kitolano, who have worked together as teammates for nine years. They have scored 46 Eredivisie-goals in that time and built a close friendship. Lauritsen has scored 46 Eredivisie-goals in four seasons and finished each year in double digits. Kitolano has become a fan favorite, particularly for his winning goal in the 3-4 win over Feyenoord. 'I didn't expect the fans to react so strongly. Even now, I'm reminded of it regularly,' said the midfielder. Lauritsen also mentions the historic win in De Kuip as his highlight. 'After that 3-4, I really felt a very special feeling. It was the best moment of my time at Sparta,' said the striker. In addition to their performances on the field, a close friendship developed. The Norwegians spent a lot of time together in the Netherlands and helped each other adjust to life in Rotterdam. 'Without each other, this adventure would have been less successful,' said Kitolano. Lauritsen added that his family now considers the midfielder to be family. After nine years as teammates, first at Odds BK and later at Sparta, the two are now parting ways. However, they both look back on their time in Rotterdam with warm feelings. 'The whole journey has been a wonderful adventure. We've grown as players and as people, and we'll certainly miss Sparta,' their joint conclusion reads.
